What’s the easiest houseplant in the world to grow. You might say the Snake Plant, Peace Lily, Cast Iron Plant, Philodendron or Devil’s Ivy. But you would be wrong. The clear case winner is the virtually impossible to kill ZZ plant. (not related to ZZ Top, the rock band). The proper named for this fantastic plant is Zamioculcas zamiifolia. This hardy plant is also known as the Eternity Palm, Zanzibar Gem, ZuZu Plant or the Emerald Palm. I prefer just to call it the ZZ plant. Place it in a room, anywhere from bright, indirect light to simply indirect light. I water my ZZ’s once or twice a month. Never allow the plant to stand in water. They do not like wet feet. Fertilize with a general purpose house plant food following the directions on the package. That’s it. Now just sit back and watch the ZZ grow. By the way the plant is native to Eastern Africa.
